Brandfolder Integration

Using Raspberry with Brandfolder

Raspberry AI connects directly to Brandfolder so new designs land in your DAM already filed correctly. Choose which Brandfolder, which Section, and optionally which Collection at the point of export, and the image arrives as a new asset ready for the rest of your team to use.

Category

Digital Asset Management (DAM) Brand asset library and distribution platform

Raspberry capabilities for Brandfolder customers

Brandfolder is a Digital Asset Management platform, owned by Smartsheet, that teams use as the central library for approved brand assets: campaign imagery, product visuals, packaging, logos — everything a marketing or creative team needs one source of truth for. It is especially common in fashion and retail as the handoff point between creative and downstream distribution.

The Brandfolder integration lets you push designs from Raspberry AI directly into a specific location in your Brandfolder library. You choose which Brandfolder, which Section within it, and optionally which Collection, and the image lands there as a new asset.

Key benefits

Assets Arrive Already Filed

Pick the Brandfolder, Section, and Collection at the point of export, so the asset lands in the right place the first time instead of sitting in an inbox waiting to be sorted.

Precise Destination Targeting

Three cascading dropdowns load live from your Brandfolder instance — Brandfolder, then Section, then optional Collection — so you are always choosing from your current library structure, not a cached snapshot.

Creative-to-Distribution Handoff Without a Gap

Because Brandfolder is where downstream teams and partners go for approved assets, exporting there directly means new work becomes available to the whole organization the moment it is signed off.

Export From Everywhere You Work

The Export To menu appears in the Create Module, the Library, on Board nodes, and throughout the Editor — the generation footer, layer menu, Batch Apply, and Batch Recolor.

Full-Quality Transfer

Images are sent at full quality.

One Org-Level Connection

An admin connects the Brandfolder account once and every member of the organization can export to it. Connecting with a team or service account means uploads are attributed to the team rather than one person.

HOW TO CONNECT TAB

Brandfolder is a premium integration gated by Raspberry's connector-token system. Enabling it costs 1 connector token from your organization's quota.

Brandfolder uses a single API key — no OAuth popup, no username and password.

Steps:

1

Go to Organization Settings → Integrations

2

Find Brandfolder and click Connect

3

Paste your Brandfolder API key into the single field

4

Click Connect — Raspberry stores the key encrypted and verifies it works

5

You are connected

Where to find your API key: log in to Brandfolder, click your avatar in the top right, then My Profile → Integrations. Your personal API key is listed there, and you can regenerate it any time you need to rotate.

Note: Connecting is an admin action. Once an admin connects the organization's Brandfolder account, all members of the org can export to it. Choose a service or team-level account rather than a personal one if you want uploads attributed to the team.

To disconnect, return to Organization Settings and click Disconnect. This removes Raspberry's stored key. Rotating your API key in Brandfolder will also invalidate the connection — reconnect with the new key.

Exporting to Brandfolder

You can export from anywhere the Export To menu appears:

  • From the Create Module — right-click any generated image → Export To → Brandfolder

  • From the Library — select an image → Export → Brandfolder

  • From the Board — right-click any image node → Export To → Brandfolder

  • From the Editor — use the generation footer, layer menu, Batch Apply, or Batch Recolor Export To menu → Brandfolder

Once you click export, a form appears with three cascading dropdowns, each loading options live from your Brandfolder instance:

1

Brandfolder (required) — pick which Brandfolder library the asset should land in. The dropdown lists every Brandfolder your API key can access

2

Section (required) — pick the Section within that Brandfolder. Sections load once a Brandfolder is chosen, and are Brandfolder's way of grouping asset types, for example Campaign Imagery, Product Shots, or Lifestyle

3

Collection (optional) — pick a Collection if you want the asset added to a curated set. Collections load once a Brandfolder is chosen. Skip this if you just want the asset in the Section

4

Click Export — the image uploads and becomes a new Asset

Brandfolder and Section are both required. Collection is optional — leave it blank to skip.

One image at a time. Batch and multi-select export to Brandfolder is not currently supported.

How Brandfolder organizes your assets

Organization

└── Brandfolders (e.g. "SS26 Campaign", "Core Product Library")
├── Sections (e.g. "Campaign Imagery", "Packshots")  ← required destination
│   └── Assets  ← your image lands here
    └── Collections (curated cross-cutting sets)  ← optional

  • Brandfolder — the main library. Your organization can have many

  • Section — a required container inside a Brandfolder. Every asset belongs to exactly one Section, and the Section constrains what content types it accepts

  • Collection — an optional curated grouping, like a playlist. Collections can span assets without duplicating them

  • Asset — the record that appears in the DAM: metadata plus one or more file attachments

Troubleshooting Brandfolder

Problem

What to try

"Invalid API key" on connect

Regenerate the key in Brandfolder → My Profile → Integrations, then paste the new value exactly, with no leading or trailing whitespace.

Connect button is disabled or hidden

Your org may be over its connector-token quota, or the integration is gated for your account. Contact your Raspberry representative.

Brandfolder dropdown is empty

Your API key may not have access to any Brandfolders. Check the account owner's permissions in Brandfolder.

Section dropdown is empty after selecting a Brandfolder

That Brandfolder has no Sections yet. Create at least one Section in Brandfolder first.

Collection dropdown is empty

That Brandfolder has no Collections. This is fine — Collection is optional, so leave it blank.

Export fails with "Unauthorized"

The API key was likely regenerated or revoked in Brandfolder. Reconnect with the current key.

"Rate limit exceeded"

Brandfolder's API returned a 429. Wait a minute and retry.

Export completes but the asset is not visible

It can take a few seconds for a new asset to appear. Refresh the Section view in Brandfolder.

Asset appears with an unexpected name

The display name defaults to the source image's name. There is no rename field on the modal today.

I want to export multiple images at once

Batch export to Brandfolder is not supported yet — export them one at a time.

I want to pull assets from Brandfolder into Raspberry

Brandfolder's API returned a 429. Wait a minute and retry.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate Brandfolder account?

Yes. The integration connects to your existing Brandfolder account. If you do not have an active licence, contact their sales team directly.

Can multiple team members use the integration?

Yes. Once an admin connects the organization's Brandfolder account, all members of the org can export to it. There is no per-user setup.

Should we connect with a personal or a team account?

A service or team-level account is usually better, since uploads are attributed to whichever account the admin connected.

Do I have to pick a Collection?

No. Brandfolder and Section are required; Collection is optional. Leave it blank if you just want the asset in the Section.

Can I pull assets from Brandfolder into Raspberry?

No. Brandfolder is export only. Download the asset from Brandfolder and upload it to Raspberry instead.

Can I export multiple images at once?

Not yet. Brandfolder exports are one image at a time.

Can I rename the asset before it lands in Brandfolder?

Not today. The display name defaults to the source image's name.

What happens if I rotate my Brandfolder API key?

Rotating the key invalidates the connection. Reconnect in Organization Settings with the new key.

Does Brandfolder see my other Raspberry AI generations?

No. Only the images you explicitly export are sent. Nothing is shared in the background.

Are my credentials stored securely?

Yes. The API key is encrypted at rest and is never exposed in the interface after setup.

Can I disconnect the integration?

Yes. Go to Organization Settings → Integrations, find Brandfolder, and click Disconnect. Your stored key is deleted immediately.
